Vandaag weer vroeg uit mijn bed om te gaan werken. Na een verlofdag zoals gisteren is het wel wat moeilijker om zo vroeg op te staan.
Hetzelfde ochtendritueel en mijn bus halen. Ik moet me haasten want ze komt er al aan.

Op het kantoor is Christos weer in zijn nopjes! Het gaat er weer vrolijk aan toe vandaag. Nog geen uur na mijn aankomst op kantoor vraagt Christos of ik zin heb om met Maria (marketing) naar Nicosia (de hoofdstad van Cyprus) te gaan. Ze moet er klanten gaan bezoeken en ook bij de collega’s van Shoham Nicosia iets afleveren. Ik stem meteen in en sta al klaar om te vertrekken.

Met Maria heb ik eigenlijk nog niet zoveel contact gehad de voorbije maand, maar daar zal nu wel wat verandering in komen.

Onderweg naar Nicosia (een rit van 85 km) is het gezellig in de auto. We lachen en praten over alles behalve het werk. Wat een toffe meid, of vrouw eerder gezegd want ze is al 38jaar oud. Dat zou je nu toch niet zeggen hoor! Dit is het voordeel van de Cyprioten; ze zien er allen jonger uit dan ze in werkelijkheid zijn.

We bezoeken Peta, een klant van Shoham in Lefkosia (vlak naast Nicosia). We ontmoeten de directrice van het bedrijf. Een oudere opgetutte vrouw die de leiding heeft zie je niet dikwijls in Cyprus. Vooral mannen hebben hier de succesvolle posities ingenomen. Daar moeten wij vrouwen toch dringend iets aan doen!!!

Na Peta bezoeken we ook nog de collega’s in Nicosia. Eindelijk zie ik hen een keertje in levende lijve. Ik praat steeds met hen aan de telefoon, maar nu kan ik er een gezicht op plakken. We drinken een koffie op het kantoor en rijden verder om te gaan lunchen.
Maria vraagt wat ik wil eten, maar dit speelt niet zo’n rol voor mij. We besluiten dan maar om in ‘The mall of Cyprus’ iets te eten. Rara, wat wordt het; Mc Donald’s natuurlijk. Mmmm. Terwijl ik nog wat geniet van het zonnetje buiten (27°), gaat Maria nog wat shoppen. Na een uurtje vertrekken we terug naar Limassol.

We arriveren terug op het kantoor rond 15.40h. Nog een uurtje werken en ik ben er weer vanaf. Het was leuk vandaag om eens iets anders te doen.

Ik neem de bus naar huis om 17.00h en stop nog bij Debenhams. Omdat Joke en PJ morgen arriveren, moet ik wel wat eten voorzien. Iets gemakkelijk en snel… spaghetti is dan voor de hand liggend!

Thuis maak ik spruitjes met patatjes en een koteletje. Echte Belgische kost. Ik besluit om de spaghetti saus ook al klaar te maken zodat ik morgen wat minder werk heb en nog wat kan genieten van de zon na het werk.

Ik kijk enorm uit naar morgen! <3

Today early out of bed to go to work, again. After a leave yesterday it is more difficult, so early. The same morning ritual and getting my bus. I must hurry because it is already coming.

The office full of the delighted Christos! It is a happy atmosphere. Just an hour after my arrival at the office Christos asks if I want to go with Maria (marketing) to Nicosia (the capital of Cyprus). They need customers to visit and also paying a visit to the colleagues from Shoham Nicosia to deliver something. I immediately get up and am ready to go.

With Maria, I really have not had much contact over the past month, but now this will changed. Driving to Nicosia (a journey of 85 km) is nice in the car.

We laugh and talk about everything except work. What a nice girl or woman earlier because she is already 38jaar old. You wouldn’t tell! This is the benefit of the Cypriots, they all look younger than they actually are. We visit Peta, a customer Shoham in Lefkosia (Nicosia next). We meet the director of the company. An older woman who was very vivid, you do not often see in Cyprus. Especially men have welcomed the successful positions. As women, we must urgently do something about it!

After Peta, we visit colleagues in Nicosia. At last I see them once in person. I always talk with them on the phone, but now I have a face in my mind. We drink a coffee at the office and go on to lunch. Maria asks what I want to eat, but this is not for me to decide. We decide then to go to 'The Mall of Cyprus' to grab a bite. Rara, which is, Mc Donald's course. Mmmm. While I still enjoy the sunshine outside (27 °), Maria is going for some shopping. After an hour we go back to Limassol.

We arrive back at the office around 16.00h. Another hour and I am gone. It was fun today to do something else.

I take the bus home around 17.00h and stop at Papas supermarket. Because Joke and PJ arrive tomorrow, I have to cook something for them. Something easy and fast ... spaghetti than the obvious!

Home I have potatoes, Brussel sprouts and a pork chop. Real Belgian food. I decide to cook the spaghetti sauce ready to eat tomorrow so I have less work and I can enjoy the sun after work.
